Cycle the greatest circle of Wallonia (400km) - An epic ride through the Belgium Ardennes, from the Citadel of Namur to the rugged forests around Bastogne.

An iconic round, perfectly mapped out by hand into a super fun, bike-friendly route full of beautiful highlights and a unique circle on the map. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, you ride through the heart of Wallonia, which is greener, wilder, and quieter than you ever expected.

Get ready for perhaps the most beautiful bike ride ever in the Benelux from Café Coureur Houffalize. It will be quite a climb, but the views over the Ardennes are breathtaking. The Meuse winds through a fairytale landscape along the picturesque Dinant to the Citadel of Namur. From Liège, the route is colored by the Blegny mine, the historic town of Limbourg, and the impressive Gileppe Dam. The absolute highlight awaits on the highest plateau of Belgium: the Hautes-Fagnes with dozens of kilometers through unspoiled nature. After 400km on the pedals, you return to Café Coureur Houffalize. The circle is complete!

Round-up

What points of attention are there on the route?

Checkpoints - Participants receive a stamp card to collect a stamp at each checkpoint. During the event, the checkpoints can be recognized by the GranRondo banner.

The route is self-supported. However, we will provide you with a little extra energy at the start. And for a fee, more food and drinks will be available. It is not possible to stay overnight at the locations. You can leave a bag at the start location during the event, but this is at your own risk. The organization/locations are not responsible for items that get lost or forgotten.

The gravel route consists of 50% unpaved/gravel sections. The recommendation is wide tires of at least 50/60mm, as about 90% of the off-road paths have larger gravel stones. There are virtually no technical MTB paths in the route, but front suspension is not a luxury.

The road route is entirely on paved roads.

Details / special features on the route are listed in the Rondogids, which you can access after purchasing the tickets.

You have registered. Where can you find the GPX?

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  1. Go to account.granrondo.cc
  2. Enter the exact same email address you used to place the order.
  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. In your account at Rondogidsen, you will see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.
