The greatest circle around Amsterdam. - Enjoy North Holland's beauty and ride around historic villages, the dune reserve, tulip fields, the Alkmaar Cheese Market, Markermeer lake, and Volendam from the heart of Amsterdam.

The ultimate loop – a perfect circle on the map and an amazing route designed for cyclists, featuring unique highlights at every turn. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, you make an impressive loop through North Holland. Along the way, you pass various historical highlights, including the world-famous canals of Amsterdam and the legendary Munnikenweg in Alkmaar.

The route goes through the heart of Amsterdam, crosses the IJ with the Buiksloterweg ferry, and passes by the Central Station. However, you only encounter one traffic light throughout Amsterdam, thanks to a bike-friendly route through the green corridor of Westerpark and Lange Bretten.

After a pleasant crossing of the North Sea Canal with the Velserpont, you exchange the urban area for the serene tranquility of the North Holland Dune Reserve, expansive polders, and characteristic North Holland villages and towns. After about 127km on the pedals, you return to the starting point. The circle is complete!

Narrow tires? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads, with a fun gravel segment after 80km that is definitely suitable for a racing bike in dry weather, which you can also skip if you prefer.

Gravel bike? There is an alternative route with a few fun shortcuts and gravel paths, about 20km different. Still mostly paved roads, but a nice change for once.

Bought a Rondobox in a store or received it as a gift?
In the lid of the Rondebox, you will find a unique start code link (for one-time use only). After check-in, which can be arranged in just a few clicks via our website, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is immediately available in your account.

Bought a Rondobox for yourself via GranRondo.cc
Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Self-guided adventure
Ride this route whenever you like. You don't need to specify a date.

Always check the ferry schedule.

During major tours or cycling races, parts of the route may be inaccessible or limited. For more information, please check the cycling calendar and on the website of the NDW does not work on mobile).

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

How is the Rondobox delivered?

You can collect the Rondebox at the starting location during the event.

The Rondebox will be shipped directly to you:

What is the recommended riding direction?

Self-guided adventure
This route is designed to be cycled counterclockwise. This is the most beautiful route, with its climbs and views, and the most practical, as there are fewer pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.

Starting from Antwerp, it's recommended to cycle counterclockwise and take the bicycle bus first due to work on the Lillo Bridge in Antwerp.

If you still want to cycle clockwise, take the loop at the Molenberg the other way around.

What to expect on the route?

PWN dune area = To access the dune area at your own convenience, you need to purchase a PWN dune card (day card is €2): pwn.nl/buydunecard

During events, we have arranged that you do not need to buy a dune card.

The route is entirely on paved roads, with a fun gravel segment suitable for a racing bike after 80km, which you can also skip if you wish.

The road-gravel route has a few nice shortcuts and gravel paths, about 10km is different. Still mostly paved road, but a fun change for once.

Can you also participate as a group?

Yes, that is certainly possible.

Volume / Group discount: If you order multiple Rondoboxes starting from 3 pieces in one order, you will receive a 15% discount. Additionally, the shipping costs will be free.

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo PackUpon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.
