The Route

Road route ⟳214km ⇗150m

The greatest circle of Fryslân - Fryslân Boppe! In beautiful circles lâns boerelân, it Waad and the Fryske marren. Anyway. It's pouring!

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, you need a bit of grease on the chain! It's on for an epic round through Fryslân, which you can roughly divide into three totally different landscapes.

On the southeast side, you pedal for hours through the expansive Frisian farmlands and forests, such as the Old Forest and the Rottige Meenthe. Head northwest, where you brave the elements on the iconic dike along the Wadden Sea and pass the historic mound of Hegebeintum. Finally, you wind through the southwest via the Afsluitdijk and Makkum along the coast of the IJsselmeer. Through the water-rich scenery of the Frisian Lakes and the Sondeler Leien, you return after about 214km on the pedals to the point where you started. The circle is complete! See you later!

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Self-guided adventure
Ride this route whenever you like. You don't need to specify a date.

During major tours or cycling races, parts of the route may be inaccessible or limited. For more information, please check the cycling calendar and on the website of the NDW does not work on mobile).

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Self-guided adventure
This route is designed to be cycled counterclockwise. This is the most beautiful route, offering the best views, and the most practical, as there are fewer pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.

Events
At events we cycle counter-clockwise.

How is the Rondobox delivered?

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

If you have ordered a Rondobox, you can pick it up at a future event or have it shipped for standard shipping costs by emailing mr@granrondo.cc

Tickets are personal and non-transferable.

You have ordered the Round Package. Where can you find the GPX?

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. Go back to account.granrondo.cc
  5. In the Rondo guides, you can see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.
