The greatest circle of Groningen - There is nothing better than Grunn'n in this beautiful tour along nature reserves, picturesque villages, the Ems, Delfzijl and the city of Grunn'n.

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, the wind can be your biggest opponent. Although they usually refer to it here in the Far North quite soberly as 'a light breeze'.

During this extensive loop, you literally string together the most beautiful villages of the Netherlands, including the picturesque Winsum. You wind for kilometers along the stunning path by the Reitdiep, cycle through the city of Groningen, and pass countless historic windmills, such as De Meeuw and De Noordstar. In the far north, you take a unique loop around the Andreaskerk in Spijk and are rewarded in Delfzijl with a wide view over the Ems. Through the surprising nature of the Foxholstermeer and the Zuidlaardermeer area, you set course back towards the finish. After about 117km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow tires? That works perfectly! The route is fully paved, with about 200m of gravel.

Self-guided adventure
Ride this route whenever you like. You don't need to specify a date.

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Self-guided adventure
This route is designed to be cycled clockwise. This is the most scenic and practical route, as there are fewer pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.

Events
At events we cycle it clockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is fully paved, with about 200m of gravel. And you need to get off the bike at a small bridge and go up and down a few steps. Enjoy this beautiful spot!

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.
