The largest circle of the Belgian province of Limburg - The largest circle of Belgian Limburg - The Cycling Paradise really exists! A unique round full of experiences: From the rugged roads in the nostalgic Alden Biesen to floating among the treetops in Bosland. Experience a varied landscape through nature reserves and cultural highlights.

An iconic loop, hand-plotted to perfection into a super fun, bike-friendly route full of beautiful highlights — and a unique circle on the map. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this round on the map, you start from Borgloon — the beating heart of Haspengouw, where the orchards full of apples and pears wave along the gentle hills.

To the east, the route begins to show its character: the Kesseltse Kip, a conical mound in the middle of the landscape, literally lifts you above the plain and rewards you with a wide view. Then you dive into the Meuse Valley, along the Dutch border — a true gravel paradise full of surprising stretches and rugged roads around the nostalgic Alden Biesen Castle. Via the Zuid-Willemsvaart, you string together one long gravel section after another, before National Park Bosland greets you with the absolute highlight of the ride: Cycling Through the Trees, a unique bike bridge in a double circle that takes you up to ten meters high among the treetops. Nowhere else in the world. After the Kempen, you head back through the fruit-growing area of Haspengouw. After 173 km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads with about 1 km of cobblestones and 800 m of gravel.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant of 186 km with extra unpaved sections for the ultimate Limburg gravel experience.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Go on an adventure
Ride this round whenever you want. You don't have to provide a date.

When there are large tours or cycling competitions, parts of the route may not be accessible or may have limited access. Check the competition calendar and tour calendar.

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Go on an adventure
This round is designed to be cycled counterclockwise. This is the most beautiful and practical due to fewer crossings and traffic lights.

Events
For events, we cycle it counterclockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is entirely about the paved roads with approximately 1km of cobblestones and 800m of gravel.

The gravel route contains 50% unpaved / gravel sections.
