The Route

The greatest circle of Limburg - Enjoy a delightful ride over the green hills in the southernmost tip of the Netherlands.

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, make sure to properly apply some cream to your calves! In this incredibly varied route, you'll secretly face quite a bit of elevation gain.

Starting from Maastricht, we dive into the hilly countryside and after conquering, among others, the Loorberg near Epen and the forests around Vijlen, we touch the Belgian border to the south. Then we head north and flirt with Germany, where we even sneak across the border twice. Through Landgraaf and Heerlen, you cycle over the beautiful Brunssummerheide, and then gradually descend along the Maas via Geleen and the Julianakanaal. After about 90km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete! Time for a well-deserved piece of pie!

Narrow tires? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads, with about 100m of gravel.

Gravel bike? Take the gravel variant with an additional 33km of unpaved/gravel sections.

Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Self-guided adventure
Ride this route whenever you like. You don't need to specify a date.

During major tours or cycling races, parts of the route may be inaccessible or limited. For more information, please check the cycling calendar and on the website of the NDW does not work on mobile).

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Self-guided adventure
This route is designed to be cycled counterclockwise. This is the most beautiful route, offering the best views, and the most practical, as there are fewer pedestrian crossings and traffic lights.

Events
At events we cycle counter-clockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route contains about 100m of hard gravel. Easy to do with narrow tires.

To make the loop more beautiful, go a bit through Germany twice... well, all for the perfect circle!

The gravel route contains some super steep segments. Just push through here!

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

Tickets are personal and non-transferable.

Here are the steps to find the gpx:
