The Route

The largest circle of the province of Namur - A royal round around the capital of Wallonia. Steep climbs, fast descents, and beautiful views over the Land of the Valleys. Come on, and dance!

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this round on the map, you make a royal loop around the capital of Wallonia — along two major rivers, through the rolling Condroz and the quiet valleys of the Famenne.

In the north, you explore the castle landscape around Château de Franc-Waret before the route catches the Meuse and heads east along the river. Château de Saint-Fontaine and Parc Naturel Coeur de Condroz mark the transition to the hilly interior, where Côte de Buissonville and the forests of La Famenne test your legs. In the south, the route seeks out the Lesse and the Steep Forest Climb digs into your calves, before the spectacular descent along the Meuse towards the Bassin de l'Hermeton. Through Bois du Prince and the banks of the Sambre, the circle closes via Eglise Saint-Amand-Spy and the stately Château de Golzinne. After 183 km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant of 207 km with extra unpaved sections through the valleys and forests of Namur.

In the lid of the Rondebox, you will find a unique start code link (for one-time use only). After check-in, which can be arranged in just a few clicks via our website, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is immediately available in your account.

Bought a Rondobox for yourself via GranRondo.cc
Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Go on an adventure
Ride this round whenever you want. You don't have to provide a date.

When there are large tours or cycling competitions, parts of the route may not be accessible or may have limited access. Check the competition calendar and  tour calendar.

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Go on an adventure
This round is designed to be cycled counterclockwise. This is the most beautiful and practical due to fewer crossings and traffic lights.

Events
For events, we cycle it counterclockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is entirely on paved roads.

The gravel route contains 45% unpaved / gravel sections.

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

Tickets are personal and non-transferable.

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  1. Go to account.granrondo.cc
  2. Enter here the exact same email address you used to place the order.
  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. Go back to account.granrondo.cc
  5. In the Rondo guides, you can see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.
