The Route

Road route ⟳140km ⇗300m

Gravel route ⟳155km ⇗360m

The largest circle of Salland - Climbing and descending in your own country. A magnificent circle over the slopes of the Salland Ridge, through the forests and along the banks of the Regge. Pure enjoyment in the green heart of Overijssel.

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this loop on the map, you climb and descend through the greenest and most hilly part of Overijssel.

The Salland Ridge dominates the west side of the loop with a series of consecutive climbs — Klinkenbelt, Noetselerberg, Holterberg, and Wullenberg — that bite your legs awake for the rest of the ride. In the north, you dive into the mystical Engbertsdijksvenen, one of the largest raised bog areas in the Netherlands, after which Springendal and the Valley of the Mosbeek welcome you with their winding stream valleys. Heading south, you glide past Twente Airport and — for those who want — the stadium of FC Twente, signaling the quieter, flatter return route along the Buurserbeek and the Twentekanaal. After 140 km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant of 155 km with extra unpaved sections through the forests and stream valleys of the Salland Ridge.

Bought a Rondobox in a store or received it as a gift?
In the lid of the Rondebox, you will find a unique start code link (for one-time use only). After check-in, which can be arranged in just a few clicks via our website, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is immediately available in your account.

Bought a Rondobox for yourself via GranRondo.cc
Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Go on an adventure
Cycle this round whenever you want. You don't need to provide a date.

When there are large tours or cycling races, parts of the route may not be accessible or may have limited access. Check the cycling calendar and on the NDW website (does not work on mobile).

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Go on an adventure
This round is designed to cycle clockwise. This is the best for the climbs on the route and the most practical due to fewer crossings and traffic lights.

Events
For events, we cycle clockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is entirely about paved roads, of which about 25km are true Achterhoek brick sections.

Gravel bike? The gravel route consists of 50% unpaved / gravel sections.

Details / specifics on the route are listed in the Rondegids you receive with the purchase of the Ronde package.

How is the Rondobox delivered?

You can pick up the Rondobox at the starting location.

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

Tickets are personal and non-transferable.

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  1. Go to account.granrondo.cc
  2. Enter here the exact same email address you used to place the order.
  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. Go back to account.granrondo.cc
  5. In the Rondo guides, you can see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.
