The largest circle of Twente - An incredibly beautiful journey through the Twente landscape. Wind along the Dinkel, conquer the ridge near Ootmarsum, and greet the Tukkers around Enschede and Almelo. Enjoy in the garden of the Netherlands!

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this rondo on the map, immerse yourself in the Twente coulisse landscape — an endless patchwork of hedgerows, stream valleys, forests, and ash trees that you won't find as pure anywhere else in the Netherlands.

In the north, you wind past the mystical Mander Circles and dive into the enchanting Springendal, where the Valley of the Mosbeek takes you through one of the most beautiful stream valleys in the country. Heading east, you touch the Dinkel — the meandering border river that has created its own little kingdom here — and glide past the drifting sand area of Lutterzand and the Baggersee Bardel. The absolute highlight follows shortly after: the wooden path along the Dinkel, a unique passage that literally takes you through the heart of this river landscape.

Through the vast Aamsveen and the rugged peat areas of the Witte Veen and Buurserzand & Haaksbergerveen, you head west, where the Twente land shows its gentlest side. The stately Weldam Castle and the Herikerberg mark the transition to the hilly west, with the forests of the Borkeld and the charming Pelmolen Ter Horst as a conclusion for the homeward journey via the Grimberg and Recreation Area Het Lageveld. After 127 km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads, with about 4 km of gravel.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant of 145 km with extra unpaved sections through the forests, stream valleys, and hedgerows of Twente.

In the lid of the Rondebox, you will find a unique start code link (for one-time use only). After check-in, which can be arranged in just a few clicks via our website, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is immediately available in your account.

Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Go on an adventure
Cycle this round whenever you want. You don't need to provide a date.

When there are large tours or cycling races, parts of the route may not be accessible or may have limited access. Check the cycling calendar and on the NDW website (does not work on mobile).

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Go on an adventure
This round is designed to cycle clockwise. This is the best for the climbs on the route and the most practical due to fewer crossings and traffic lights.

Events
For events, we cycle clockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is entirely about paved roads, with about 4km of gravel. Easily manageable with a racing bike.

Gravel bike? The gravel route consists of 50% unpaved / gravel sections.

Details / specifics on the route are listed in the Rondegids you receive with the purchase of the Ronde package.

How is the Rondobox delivered?

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

Here are the steps to find the gpx:
