Route

Road route ⟲151km ⇗520m

The greatest circle of the Veluwe – a natural loop at its finest; ride through forests and heathlands, past charming villages, and keep your eyes open for wildlife.

A beautiful route, perfectly mapped out – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this round trip on the map, you make an impressive loop through the most beautiful parts of the Veluwe. We start at the idyllic Carolinahoeve in De Steeg.

You leave National Park Veluwezoom at Dieren and cycle beautifully along the IJssel on the eastern side of the route, where you can enjoy a few surprising gravel sections along the way!

Once in the north, you trade the river landscape for the vast, rolling forests and heathlands around Elspeet and Vierhouten. After a wide crossing near Voorthuizen and the impressive Ginkelse Heide, you head towards Arnhem.

The challenge is definitely at the end, with a heavy series of leg-burners, including the Emmapiramide, Zijpenberg, and of course the Posbank. After 150 - 160km on the pedals, you return to the starting point. The circle is complete!

Narrow tires? That works perfectly! The route is fully paved, with about 1 km of gravel.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant with an extra 50km of unpaved/gravel sections.

As a bonus, there is also an XL road route (186km / 2km gravel) and an XL gravel route (193km / 40km gravel).

8:30 AM ☕ Meet & Greet

Reception at Carolinahoeve in De Steeg with the first round of coffee/tea on us. Check in and grab some fuel for the road.

Would you like something extra for the road? Order the Rondebox with sports energy for the journey — enjoy the Kalkman Bytes.

~9:00 AM 🚴 Let's Rondo!

Hop on your bike and get started. Join a friendly group at your preferred speed. You will cycle the loop counterclockwise.

~11:30 AM 🚰 Rest stop

Rest stop at Inn Aunt Sjaan (Gortelseweg 1, Vierhouten) around 70km. Fill your water bottles here and take a restroom break. Feel free to take some time to relax on the terrace and order something tasty from the menu at your leisure.

~3:30 PM 🍻 The circle is complete!

Now enjoy the afterparty at the finish location The Carolinahoeve. The Carolinahoeve closes at 5:00 PM. The first round is on us!

How to access your Rondoguide & GPX files?

Immediately after ordering, the Digital Round Guide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Round Box will be distributed during the event.

Do you have to ride it in one go?

You don’t have to finish in a single day—take your time and spread the adventure over several days. Will you tackle it in one go or stay overnight along the way? The choice is yours!

What to expect on the route?

The route is fully paved, with about 1 km of gravel.

For a number of segments in the gravel route you need an MTB vignette or day pass from Natuurmonumenten. Order this via: natuurmonumenten.nl/mtb/daypass

Can you participate as a group?

Yes, that is certainly possible.

How is the Rondobox delivered?

You can pick up the Rondebox at the starting location during the event.

Is cancellation or exchange possible?

If you are unable to attend an event, you can go "Self on Adventure" on another date with the received Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will not be available. There will be no refunds for payments.

If you have ordered a Rondobox, you can pick it up at the next event or have it sent to you for regular shipping costs by emailing mr@granrondo.cc

Tickets are personal and therefore non-transferable to someone else.

You have registered. Where can you find the GPX?

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  1. Go to account.granrondo.cc
  2. Enter here the exact same email address you used to place the order.
  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. Go back to account.granrondo.cc
  5. In the Rondo guides, you can see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.

How much of your donation goes to KiKa?

100% to KiKa
