The Route

Road route ⟳345km ⇗3810m

The largest circle of Wallonia - A queen's ride that connects the vibrant confluence at the Citadel of Namur with the rugged forests around Bastogne.

A beautiful round, perfectly outlined by hand – a lovely circle on the map and a super fun, bike-friendly route full of unique highlights. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this round on the map, you take a wide loop through the heart of Wallonia — from the Meuse in the north to deep in the Ardennes in the south.

We head from the north towards the east, along the Meuse and up through Fort Battice. The Gieppe Dam signals the Hautes-Fagnes — the highest point of the route — where Lorlou marks the literal high point of the ride. Via Malmedy, the route descends southward through the vast Ardennes forests: along La Gleize, Bombusch, and through the Parc naturel des Deux-Ourthes deep into the south, at the border with Luxembourg. The return journey takes you through the Parc naturel de l'Ardenne méridionale westward, before the Meuse at Dinant pulls the loop back northward. The finale over the legendary Citadel of Namur and the Château d'Heroïe completes the circle in style. After 345 km on the pedals, you reach the point where you started. The circle is complete!

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is entirely on paved roads.

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant of 370 km with extra unpaved sections through the forests and fields of the Ardennes.

Bought a Rondobox in a store or received it as a gift?
In the lid of the Rondebox, you will find a unique start code link (for one-time use only). After check-in, which can be arranged in just a few clicks via our website, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is immediately available in your account.

Bought a Rondobox for yourself via GranRondo.cc
Immediately after ordering, the Digital Rondoguide with the GPX files is available in your account. The Rondobox will follow by post within a few days.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Go on an adventure
Ride this round whenever you want. You don't have to provide a date.

When there are large tours or cycling competitions, parts of the route may not be accessible or may have limited access. Check the competition calendar and  tour calendar.

What is the starting point?

You can start anywhere on the circle.

Are you coming from further away? If possible, start a catering location on the route, so that you can start or end with a drink and/or a tasty (drink) snack.

What is the recommended riding direction?

Go on an adventure
This round is designed to cycle clockwise. This is the most beautiful and practical due to fewer crossing points and traffic lights.

Events
For events, we cycle it clockwise.

What to expect on the route?

The route is entirely on paved roads.

The gravel route contains 45% unpaved / gravel sections.

You can pick up the Rondobox at the starting location.

The Rondobox will be sent to you:

✓ Shipped within 36 hours on weekdays, subject to availability.

is cancellation or exchange possible?

Rondo Pack
Upon placing your order, you receive immediate access to the Rondoguide and GPX files. Just like donations to charity, digital files are non-returnable. Consequently, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.d.

Events
If you are unable to attend an event, you can go on a Self-guided adventure on another date using the digital Rondoguide and route files. Event extras (such as drinks) will be forfeited. No refunds will be provided.

Tickets are personal and non-transferable.

You have ordered the Round Package. Where can you find the GPX?

Here are the steps to find the gpx:

  1. Go to account.granrondo.cc
  2. Enter here the exact same email address you used to place the order.
  3. You will receive a verification code by email that you need to enter.
  4. Go back to account.granrondo.cc
  5. In the Rondo guides, you can see the Rondo you purchased. The GPX is on the Rondo guide page.
