The Route

The greatest circle of Zeeland - ♪ With the sun at your back, and the wind in your hair. Here on the coast, the Zeeland coast. By the sea… Where the love of lust. Evergreens and old ties are yours. ♫

An iconic loop, hand-plotted to perfection into a super fun, bike-friendly route full of beautiful highlights — and a unique circle on the map. 🚴‍♂️✨

To put this round on the map, you will hop between (almost) islands with three crossings over the water.

If you go clockwise, you will cycle from Perkpolder through Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Here you cycle via the locks of Terneuzen to Breskens, where the Westerschelde Ferry takes you to Vlissingen. From the Boulevard in Vlissingen, you cycle over Walcheren to Veere, where you take the ferry over the Veerse Meer to Kamperland. Through Noord-Beverland, you pass the Zandkreekdam between the Veerse Meer and the Oosterschelde.

At Op Zuid-Beverland past Kapelle, you arrive at the landing stage in Hansweert. Until 2024, a boat took you from here to the endpoint, but this boat is permanently out of service. As a result, you can now enjoy an additional 120 km by bike along the Westerschelde.

After cycling and sailing for 250 km, you return to the starting point. The circle is complete!

Note: The ferry service over the Westerschelde between Perkpolder and Hansweert was permanently stopped in 2025. So no boat is operating anymore.

The best alternative is a 100km bonus route along the Westerschelde. You will then take the Westerschelde Ferry twice. Other alternatives with the bike bus or car are described in the route guide.

Narrow straps? That works perfectly! The route is almost entirely on paved roads, with about 2km of gravel. And a little bit of water too :-)

Gravel bike? Then take the gravel variant with 52km of unpaved / gravel sections.

Can you ride every day this Rondo?

Self-guided adventure
Ride this route whenever you like. You don't need to specify a date.

Always check the ferry schedule. From November to April, the Veere-Kamperland ferry is out of service.

During major tours or cycling races, parts of the route may be inaccessible or limited. For more information, please check the cycling calendar and on the website of the NDW does not work on mobile).

You can start anywhere on the circle.
